Carlingnose
The Ranger Service contributes to the management of various Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), one of importance on the coast is Carlingnose. The site is designated for its herb rich calcareous grassland. Work on the site this year helped to clear areas of scrub, which competes with the important plant species to restore the grassland. This work has helped to ensure the environment is suitable for species including the locally scarce Lesser Meadow-rue, Field Gentian, Bloody Cranesbill and the nationally scarce Dropwort.
