GREEN FOOTPRINT
As an environmental charity, Fife Coast & Countryside Trust (FCCT) recognises that our day-to-day operations may have an impact on the local, national and international environment.

We are committed to safeguarding the quality of water, air and land on which we depend by ensuring all our projects are planned and monitored to minimise any ecological impact.

As a consequence, FCCT are committed to minimising the environmental impacts of our business operations through the application of the measures outlined in this policy statement. A process of regular review and development will aid in the continuous improvement of the policy and its implementation.

Fife Coast & Countryside Trust has a commitment to:

Refuse to purchase items before exploring other options and checking equipment inventories at all FCCT bases.

Reduce waste wherever possible by thinking about what we buy and how we use it. Non-essential documents and e-mails will not be printed. We will annually review which internal documents and external publications are necessary and act accordingly.

Repair any item that can feasibly be fixed and remain safe for use.

Re-use wherever possibly by trying to find a second life for items, especially paper and office stationary. We are committed to the re-use of envelopes and packaging where possible.

Recycle all paper, card, glass, tin cans, toner cartridges, inkjet cartridges and batteries. If office furniture or IT equipment is being replaced, we will seek to have those items reused or recycled through partnerships with social economy organisations.

We will endeavour to purchase recycled products and as a last resort we will ensure any remaining waste is disposed of using the safest and most responsible means possible.

Fife Coast & Countryside Trust will meet these commitments through:

Purchasing: We will endeavour to source locally and from suppliers who have an environmental policy that supports our own and, wherever possible, purchase fair-trade and environmentally friendly products.

Communication: The FCCT Environmental Policy Statement will be communicated internally to staff and feedback will be encouraged. The Environmental Policy Statement will be made available to the general public and partner organisations to communicate the importance of environmental issues.

Review: The Environmental Policy will be regularly reviewed.
